Come up and see us sometime- hopefully we're coming to a theatre near you. If not, let us know if you know of a good venue for us and we'll be glad to look into it. Even better - tell them about us - promotion is always better to come from you than us.
News from the Road:
After 500 shows and 4 years, it was about time for a Cirkus Inferno overhaul. In November and December of 2005, between residencies at L'Ecole Nationale de Cirque and TOHU, in the Cite des Arts du Cirque in Montreal, we worked under the watchful eye of master clown and director Rene Bazinet. Our goal was to give the story deeper sense, and finer detail, as much for ourselvses the artists, as for all the adults in the audience. The characters, relationship, storyline, sound design, and even the lighting design were all rediscovered with grace and abandon. We beefed up the long under-developed, white clown role of the Theatre Manager into a character played by the inimitable French circus artist/clown Anthony Venisse. Cirkus Inferno has deepened and matured in unexpected ways, but don't worry, it's still got its unpretentious heart.
We have started working with John Lambert Assoc., booking our shows in Asia, parts of Europe, and South America. We're very happy to be working with such a genuine pro, and to have these gorgeous parts of the world opening up to us. See our new representation online at www.johnlambert.ca.
We're actively looking for a managing director, so if you're interested, or know somebody who would be interested, in working to keep this company organized and on top of our to do list, I'd love to hear from you.
In the meanwhile, these are our bookings for the upcoming season. As always, things will change, but I'll try and keep this page as updated as possible. (PR/Marketing director, maybe? If you know anyone ...?)
